So, I don't know how many of you are in the Indianapolis news viewing area anymore, but if so you may have seen my badass apartment on TV all morning because the strip mall 50 ft from my front door burned to the ground in a fireworks explosion of glory last night. Also, to all you animal lovers out there, it was not a "pet supply store" that burned down. it was a pet store. full of puppies. cute ones. But I can appreciate all those hard hitting news stations not wanting to upset all the townsfolk by reporting real facts.

Also, none of my stuff got burned up, so yay to that.

So, after much discussion Matt and I just booked a 4 day trip to Portland, OR for April 11-14th. We will be evaluating Portland as one of our top choices of where to move now that Matt has been freed from his bonds at Fuji.

I am super excited at the prospect of living in a place with so many opportunities and things to do, and Matt is excited about the possibility of going to school in a city with lots of art opportunities, museums and galleries. Now I just have to spend the next few weeks making sure to plan for everything we want to see and check out while we are there. Luckily my 4 day on/4 day off work schedule has allowed me the opportunity to take this trip without missing any work myself as I am now the only one of us that is gainfully employed, but we have lots of savings and Matt's severance package to hold us over so no one need worry about us financially. One thing Crawfordsville was good for was building up a huge savings account. You just can't spend money when there is nothing around to do.

If anyone has made a trip to Portland and knows of a spot we simply must visit (or some sweet restaurants and nightlife) feel free to comment to let me know so I can add it to our itinerary for the trip. I have already been checking out people's reviews at www.yelp.com thanks to the tip from Amanda.

The higher cost of living there has me a little concerned, but we are both agreeing that a higher quality of life comes with a higher cost of living, and we are ready to make the sacrifice on less space in an apartment for more time spent outside of that apartment.

Well, not much has been going on here lately. I have been taking on a massive Spring cleaning extravaganza, and in June we are having a yard sale with a couple of our friends. So far it seems like Matt and I will be getting rid of about 1/3 of our stuff. Why we bothered moving it to this apartment in the first place I'll likely never know. Probabaly because it's easier to shove crap in boxes and move it than it is to sit down and take the time to sort it in the first place. Go go american laziness!

I'm starting to teach myself how to do stained glass. I guess I figured I need a new hobby, and i'm going to make some badass stuff. I was looking at different pictures of stained glass online and came across a window panel of Mr. T Needless to say I was downright inspired after that. It's on.

Also, we went down to ole IU on saturday to watch my sister's graduation and help her move into her summer sublet. It took us 2 trips with 3 vehicles, one of which was a pickup truck to get all her crap moved. I have no idea how it all fit into a dorm room to begin with. Maybe dorm rooms are akin to chinese takeout boxes: once you start taking stuff out the stuff inside just seems to expand exponentially. However, her apartment seems quite nice and has ample room for her to spread it all out.

Other than that, it's been relatively boring. We are slowly but surely looking into buying a house here in Crawfordsville. I think we are sort of dragging out feet because we always imagined going someplace far more interesting, but how can you shun a place with such low crime and such affordable living that is within 30-90 minutes of 3 pretty neat cities (well, Indy and Bloomington kickass anyway, Lafayette is kind of a shithole in my opinion). So we may actually be homeowners someday in the near future.

Let's hear it for being grown ass people.

Today I booked the fabulous Hawaiian vacation Matt and I are going on in March. We usually do our vacationy stuff near my birthday in October, so we decided this time we'd go around matt's birthday, and it'll be freakin sweet to get out of Indiana in March to go someplace awesome and nice that we've never been to.

I'm married, bitches.

well, as details unfold i suppose i will post them. As of right now, my mom wants Matt and I to get married before family camp in August so we can have a wicked party there. And since Matt and I don't really care when we get married (let's face it we'd be happy living in sin the rest of our lives--this whole thing is for our parents) we'll probably be Mr and Mrs Morrison (should i change my name?--god that sounds like lots of work) sooner than we thought. And I think we're gonna take a vacation in October or something. Anyone know any sweet places for us to go? We're pretty open for ideas as there are lots of places we haven't been--we just never hear people say "omg i went on the best vacation ever to !" so we don't really know where to go, as we aren't much for planning.

All i know is i can not get married on August 6th, as that is sister's birthday. and no one steals her thunder, least of all me.
